Seven Interests Meme

gaaneden picked 7 of my interests for me to write about. If you want to play along, send me a comment; I'll pick 7 of your interests for you to write about, you post with these instructions in your LJ to keep this going.

Aetherco - This is the company that produced the wonderful Continuum rpg. This is one of the most unique time-travel rpgs on the market today. One in which "YOU" are the time machine, recruited by the mysterious inheritors to protect the timeline from the manipulation of Narcissists.

Craters - I guess my interest in this stems from them being an awesome visual representation of the power of the universe. I guess I'm as much interested in the causes of craters (asteroids, volcanoes, and big horking explosions) as the craters themselves.

Jack of Fables - This comic, a spin-off of DC's Fables series, deals with the trials and tribulations of Jack (of the Beanstalk fame, also known as Jack Frost, etc), living in the modern world. It's fun watching this guy scheme fail, dust himself off and scheme again. I'm also curious about Page sisters who are hunting him.

Kage Baker - Author of the Company series. She combines an in depth knowledge of history with a quirky sense of humor to tell the stories of immortal cyborgs and the shady corporation that's employed them since prehistory to preserve the past for future enjoyment. Her most endearing character is the botanist Mendoza, who hates and fears mortals, yet, keeps falling in love with the same one, over and over again.

Myths and Legends - I guess since back in elementary school, I've had an interest in Myths and Legends. It started with looking at an illustrated version of the Bible, moved to reading about Greek myth and moved on from there. As I once told someone else, I grew up with PBS as my primary babysitter, and now that I have satellite, I'll never give up Discovery channel.

Soundtracks - I love movie soundtracks. In many cases, far more then the movies they came from. Especially, John Williams. I used to have an impressive collection of soundtrack albums on cassette tape. However, I've played most of these to destruction, and many are not available on CD.

The Dying Earth - No gaaneden, this has nothing to do with the Apocalypse, but instead, the book Tales of the Dying Earth by Jack Vance. I discovered this series thanks to the rpg of the same name by Pelgrane Press. These sometimes humorous sometimes sad tales of an Earth, so far in the future that nothing of our time remains, and indeed, the Sun may very well go out tomorrow.

Well, that's my seven. Who's next?
