I will now address the concerns I have about my parents separating:
a-hem.
1. What the HELL are we going to do on Christmas? We can't be separated on Christmas! It's never happened and I think I would be heart broken if it did. I have other woes about Christmas as a newly married person- but I digress...
2. My dad makes less money than my mom does. I'm worried that their standard of living will be unbalanced.
3. Just...dad. My father loves my mother and he is often depressed. Cliff will live with my mom and thus, my father will be home by himself a lot. Coming from someone who has lived alone for a grand total of five days now, it sucks. I deal with this by thinking that mom works a lot so Cliff will be with my dad quite a bit.
4. Cliff. Even though he says that he is prepared for this separation, I don't believe him. I don't think he's thought about what it will be like to have two homes. To not always know where he'll be spending the night. To physically pack and move out of our current house. and be alone with my dad who needs to talk about things that he shouldn't be discussing with his 12 year old son. I really hope that I underestimate them.
5. Parent favoring. I love them both, but I can't bear the thought of the family not being together spontaniosly in the living room anymore. I feel pressured to keep them both company so that they know that.
Those are all the things that I can think of off the top of my head and I would rather not contemplate reality anymore.
Also I have discovered that I am hungry and have no food in my immediate reach.
