OK THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE ENTIRE WORLD:::::
ON SEPTEMBER 30...
STOP EVERYTHING YOU'RE DOING...
BECAUSE YOU AAAAAAALLLLLLLLLL MUST GO SEE "SERENITY" ON OPENING NIGHT.
ok...there was a sci-fi show called "Firefly" on tv for a while, but it was cancelled after one season. DONT ASK ME WHY, the show was kickass and had no reason to be kicked off the air. it was amazing, witty, and exciting. well, thanks to its enormous fan base and hard working cast and crew, they were able to engineer a full-fledged film based on the story. its a continuation from after the last episode of the one and only season. the characters are memorable, and each have their own special qualities. my personal favorite is wash, the pilot, but that may be because i love the actor (alan tudyk), who you may know as watt in a knight's tale. here are some of the characters...
jayne: Serenity's resident bodyguard. hes hilarious and barbaric, but loveable because of how much of a hardass he is. hes obsessed with weapons and destruction.
kaylee: shes the serenity's mechanic. shes sweet, cheerful, and kind of like a big...idk...marshmallow. she would be considered the cute one. she has a huge crush on dr. simon...
dr. simon tam: hes a convict running away from the government who abducted his genius sister and inputted memories into her mind. he is handsome, smart, reserved and responsible, and would do anything to protect his sister.
river tam: simon's sister. shes a genius, telepathic, and a fighting machine. she's psychic, and was used for research and to hide away the truth about evil predators called reavers. she can virtually destroy anybody in her path. she is being hunted by the government.
captain Malcom reynolds (mal): hes a hardass captain, who lies, is a total asshole, kills mercilessly, but still remains to be so fucking cool. Serenity is his baby. he cares for his crew more than anything. he has a thing for anara...
Zoe: mal's right hand man...errr...woman. shes brave, tough, and in my opinion, stronger than ANY man on the show...
shepard book: serenity picked him up on a planet where he was traveling from. he lives on a planet called haven, which he is trying to get to, but becomes attached and dedicated to the crew. he is a priest, wise, and the only person mal ever goes to for advice.
anara: shes a "companion" also known as a prostitute. in these times, companions hold the highest political power. they are looked up to and treasured as royalty. anara is sweet natured, only reacts badly to mal, who she also secretly likes.
wash: serenity's pilot. he is my favorite character. he's hilarious and soooo loveable.
reavers: they are flesh eating, raping, destructive humans. because of a failed experiment on the planet of miranda, 10% of the race's aggressiveness levels were enhanced, turning them into the most feared beings in the universe, attacking and destroying, killing everything they see. they are torturous and barbaric beyond anything you can even imagine.
the story is amazing. and you will LAAAAUUGHHH i mean its absolutely hilarious and amazing how the script can keep you on the edge of your seat yet still manage to make you laugh OUT LOUD seriously. the script is filled with such WIT and its so perfect. you guys just HAVE to see it.
well first, you have to see the first season. or at least read up on it. its only one season...dont get all flustered. honestly--one of the greatest movies i've ever seen. i can't say anything about what happens...and you really have to see the episodes in order to fully appreciate whats going on...u have to get to know and love the characters...its really important. well its late...i just got home. the premiere was at 10 and its 1:20 now. but it was at aventura. i checked the website (www.cantstopthesignal.com) and apparently EVERY PREMIERE IN THE COUNTRY was sold out!!!!! you guys the fans are the reason this show could be revived. so come oooon and go see it i promise you'll love it.
