No more pencils, no more books
Today was the last math class of the school year.
I've spent over five months with this group of kids, and although I wasn't really sure about things when January rolled around, it ended up working out really, really well. Some days were really frustrating, like when they were distracted or asleep. Other days, though - those were the days that I knew I wanted to teach for a living. It is so unbelievably rewarding to see the look of sudden understanding on a child's face.
Those kids understand more math now than they did when they came to me. I helped them understand.
Just...wow.
