update
I'm in Dallas now. I drove up here yesterday afternoon. My nephew is a sweetie. He apparently like to stare at me, and doesn't want to do anything his mother tells him to if I am in the vicinity (it's only the 2nd time he's seen me). I then have to tell him what his mother just did, and he'll listen to me and quiet down. I guess he likes the new person.
I made the decision to come up here because Houston had very sporaidic services, and the mayor of Galveston said in a press conference yesterday that residents would not be able to do a look and leave anytime this week. I thought it was the perfect time for a visit. Well, this morning the mayor announces that we can start doing look and leaves today. GRRRRRRRRR... Had I known that yesterday, I would have just stuck around Houston. Oh well. At least I'm getting to visit family I don't see very often. I figure I'll head back down to Houston Thursday afternoon, and then go check on the casa Friday. I do plan on taking someone with me, partly because I'm not sure what condition I'll be in for the drive home. I also hope the mass entrance of people that is seriously backing up the freeway will be lessened by Friday as well.
