Tokyo Part 3!

On the last-ish full day of our trip to tokyo. Martin was super hungover. So myself and David went to explore the local area.  We also went to try and get our fortunes at the Asakusa Shrine...but all we got was.

Bad fortune.... sucky!

Luckily in Japan if you have a bad fortune, you can just tie it up on a wire fence and forget about it.

So that is exactly what we did.

No more bad fortune!

A little walk on and we found the gegege no kitaro shop! Awesome! Some of my favourite characters.

Kitaro's father is his eyeball. I <3 this series.

Yet again another lucky find was...

A mini ninja show. Fun fun! The Ninja's were hot too!

But not this guy...

After some wandering and eating, we headed to Ikebukuro to go to Namja town. We stopped off at the park first. IWGP is one of my favourite drama's so I was happy.

Playing with the fountain. I am..very very white in this photo...

There was a very very very long esculator in the art gallery.

Ikebukuro Owls.

Then it was off to Namja town (a food theme park with ice cream and gyoza - dumplings-)

On entering...we saw this in the electronics store... this tv made us pirates!

Inside Namja town. It was pretty busy.

David tried to catch some lobsters. He got no prize though...

We ate some special Gyouza. These are chinese fried dumplings and they are amazing. One of them was mayonnaise and some sort of meat, then cheese ones and well I can't remember but they were amazing.

Then it was on to Ice Cream city. Which was full of ice cream from all over Japan. There was some strange flavours thrown in there.

For example; Squid ink flavour, Hot Spring Flavour, Ramen Flavour, Spicey Chilli Flavour, etc etc

Found some Whisky. This was kind of normal.

We made a challenge for ourselves and decided to get the most disgusting flavour we thought there was and eat them.

Martin went for Charcoal Flavour. David was Shark Fin Soup Flavour and I was Fried Noodle Flavour. (with egg).

Nothing like some Sharkfin soup with random bits inside it.

Charcoal Flavour.

And my choice....Fried Noodle and Egg...yum..

Before tasting them, we were very hopeful :D

Unfortunatly they were pretty disgusting.

In order of rank;

1. Fried Noodle,
2. Shark Fin Soup
3. Charcoal

3, was actually really nice. You can see the video here for our official taste test.

Some of the ice creams in Japan. One being the Vampire Garlic Ice cream...YUM.........

We really failed with the ice cream...supremely failed (but won as the chalenge was to pick the most disgusting). I think we did a pretty good job. The noodles were in the ice cream and also there was distinct shark fin in the soup one...yummy... we managed to eat the whole lot...and were left later feeling sick.

It was then after that we headed to the car place. Maybe toyota? I have no idea. Hmmm flashy cars.

Nothing like cute characters coming out of a car :D

And a Robot... because where would we be without them :D!

I liked the sports car. It was pretty.

Nothing like some GT4 either.

After the car place we went for sushi that smelt like goldfish and off to 8-bit cafe in Shinjuku.

8-bit cafe is a retro pub with computer games galore. Unfortunatly I forgot to get many pictures. The music was Pong and Space invaders, there was a SNES, NES and a Ps2 set up for you to play and gameboys everywhere. There was some super rare stuff and then there was some really rubbish stuff which looked cool due to the surroundings.

Our cocktail of the evening was a Dr Mario.

Because everyone should have a cocktail in a tumbler with addable capsules!!! It was awesome!

Playing a failing!

Sucking heavily at mario whilst drinking.

It was awesome!!

Outside the cafe. If anyone visits, I'll be sure to take you here. Its definatly recommended!!

Anyway the cafe was amazing, I think everyone should go to it. The site is;  http://8bitcafe.net/index.html

Afterwards we headed to MCD's for a burger and then watched the hosts go on by in Shinkuku.

Me and David then headed to Ageha night club for a clubbing event with in which David was on the guest list. We headed in and we got ourselves some Champagne. The sound system was pretty intense, one of the best sound systems in a club in the world! There was some pretty awesome DJ's on show and also a bunch of amazing pole dancers who were made of all muscle!!! They did some pretty amazing stuff. We were drinking and then we got talking to one of Chris Lieblings friends and then we were suddenly on the stage in front of about 1000 people! It was amazing! You could feel the music pumping through your viens! Then it was on to the swimming pool! Where everyone was dancing like crazy to Ryukyu Disco :) It was an amazing night! Highly recommend going to ageha night club. It was surreal and amazing!
