We passed our last test

So, I got called this morning to let me know that I passed the glucose screening (yay!), but that my iron is low (boo!). She recommended that I eat more iron-rich foods and eat a bowl of Total cereal every day. (I didn't get numbers for how low or anything, but I may have Craig call back to find out a little more. I'm not beat all the time or anything, so I assume it's not criminally low.)

Now, I agreed to her initial suggestions, and I'm cool with that. It doesn't sound too difficult. However, I just did some quick checking online, and the cereal I'm eating normally (Multi-Grain Cheerios) already has 100% of the RDA for iron. I also eat more than what they call a serving each morning, since I don't eat it with anything else. So, I'm left with two possible conclusions. Either the Total is formulated to let you absorb more iron than Cheerios is (quite possible), or switching isn't going to help much by itself, and I'm going to need to up my intake of beef, turkey, and baked potatoes, none of which sounds bad either.

I did see that vitamin C should help with iron absorbtion, so I can switch to have orange juice with my cereal in the mornings as one thing to help.

Any other insights?
