Update

I turned in the monster project on Monday, which made me very happy, and submitted a monster invoice, which made me even happier. But the feeling evaporated by yesterday afternoon, because I have so many urgent interiors routing (two of my own, and six or so for a colleague who's out this week). Add to that a major meeting this morning and another tomorrow, and I feel ready to chuck it all and join the circus.

That said, while I waited for my lunch order at Lenny's, I found out the cashier would soon be coming off her six-hour shift. I worked in a deli in college, and it could be very tiring, so I was thinking, Oh good, at least her shift's not too long. But then I considered how little she must make working so few hours, presumably at minimum wage. It really puts my office job in perspective.

I got home late, and instead of taking a hot bath and going to bed early, I made another ill-fated attempt to run Railroad Tycoon 3. After reinstalling the game and updating the video card driver crashed my computer, I was forced to admit defeat and accept that I need a new video card. So I started checking out prices. From there it was only a short step to start pricing new computers...and now it's after midnight.

Oh well. Sleep is overrated.
