So I'm going to Cancun, Mexico next week. Can anyone that's been there give me any tips on the airport, the city and what not? I'm going with my aunt, but we're travelling separately and meeting up at the airport

I have had 3 uncles go to Mexico in the last year. One of them actually did have someone sneak marajuana in their bag. I guess he set his bags down while he used a payphone at LAX and somebody slipped it in really quickly while they weren't looking. So he got on the plane, got to Mexico, and one of those drug sniffing dogs found it so the police stood around waiting for someone to pick up that bag and when he got it, they all rushed in, cuffed him, and took him off to jail. He kept saying he didn't do it, but he had no proof so he ended up getting locked in a Mexican jail for a few months and those jails are really bad.

Another uncle had the same thing happen, except somebody slipped a gun in his bags somewhere instead of drugs. The metal detectors over in Mexico found it and he has been in jail for years now.

My third uncle made it in and out without a problem, so I guess you have a one in three chance of not having any problems. In case you haven't figured it out yet, I am completely BSing all of this and not one word of it is true. haha scared ya didn't I?

Truth is that I know lots of people who have gone there and very few of them have ever had any problems at all. The ones that did have problems were there on spring break, probably too drunk to walk, and causing all kinds of problems so they deserved to have some trouble with the law. They didn't even go to jail though, just got held in a cell overnight until they sobered up. So basically, you're good to go! I'll miss ya :( psh you couldn't even bring the mexican with you. loser!
