Please sign up here for springtime_gen 2012! Sign-ups are open till February 5 and we expect to have assignments out by February 12. Submission deadlines are 8 April for first-time participants and 15 April for veterans.

For the gift you'll create:
1. Will you be giving fic or art? Fic
2. Characters you'd rather not write: Death Eaters, Umbridge, Snape, or Malfoys in more than a small roll. Luna scares me a little, but I can give her a go if need be.
3. Genres, scenarios and anything else you'd rather not write/draw: Any of the characters mentioned above in an overly sympathetic light, overly dark and/or angsty; I'm not so great at plotting mysteries, although I'm willing to try, and my attempts at battle scenes are sorely lacking
For the gift you'll receive:
1. Would you prefer to receive fic or art (though we can't guarantee art)? Either would be fabulous, although I think I'd prefer fic this time
2. 3-5 preferred characters: Neville, Ginny, Harry, the Weasleys (any of them), Hufflepuffs (past, present or future), McGonagall (I know, I know, that's more than 5… sorry!)
3. Characters you don't want in your gift: Any of the following in a sympathetic light: Voldemort, Death Eaters (not including Snape), Umbridge
4. Preferred genres, prompts or scenarios you'd like to see in your gift:
Any of the following would be awesome, but if you come up with a great idea that's different, feel free to run with it!
•Missing moments
•I've been interested in the Sorting Hat lately (For example, we know it talked to Harry outside of his sorting, but did it ever talk to anyone else? Or did it change the way it sorted/the criteria it used before or after either of the wars? Stuff like that.)
•New types of magic/magic used in new ways
•Something extolling the wonderfulness of Hufflepuff would make me happy, if you want to work with them.
•I've got a thing for banter and friendly teasing, and if it's a plotty story, a happy (or at least hopeful) ending for our main character(s) is love.
•I tend to be a canon whore when it comes to pairings, but I love AU situations, so if your idea takes you in that direction, go for it!
5. Genres, scenarios etc. you don't want to see in your gift: Overly dark or angsty, any of the hardcore kinks (if it's got a name, I probably don't want it), stories without any hope, Hufflepuffs treated as "duffers" and wastes of space (unless they prove themselves in the end)
About you:
1. Up to which rating can you legally read/view: NC-17, but I prefer light-R or below. I'm perfectly happy with a G-rated fic, if that's where the story takes you.
2. Have you participated in springtime_gen before and, if so, can you tell us when? Yes, in 2010, and I wrote for st_dl.
