Excellent story. You do a fine job creating a believable, thoughful Neville, one who ages believably in each section; you've chosen nicely-revealing moments for each year, too. The quiet talk with Lupin is lovely, and though it's hard to pick a favorite section, I'm very fond of the one with Augusta -- beautifully-structured, as Tetley says, and so IC.

"Do you fancy me?"
"No." He then added a weak, "Sorry."

Ha! Perfect. As the Hat said, honesty is another attractive Gryffindor quality, especially when managed as kindly as Neville does.

Oh, mystery author, thank you so much!! This was amazing.

I have a hard time believing that writing Neville was new territory for you, because you got him pitch-perfect. This was just the essence of what it means to be Neville Longbottom.

I adore the scenes you chose - those wonderful in-between moments that don't appear in canon, and yet are critically important. The supporting characters were lovely, and his blossoming friendships, especially with Ginny, were beautiful. You wove such depth and complexity into a deceptively simple story.

This was a brilliant depiction of Neville! I loved his talk with Professor Lupin and his interaction with Ginny especially. Great job!

I really, really love this. A lot. This is just brilliant. Brilliant characterization--of Neville, and Augusta, and the Sorting Hat(!) and Hagrid (I love the idea of him making a rude gesture to Amycus) and Ginny and Hermione and Luna...

I'd quote my favorite parts, but I'd be here all night, and I'd probably end up quoting the whole fic back to you. That said, if I was absolutely had to pick a favorite part, it'd have to be the ending, especially how you brought Neville around to realizing it was his time to blossom--SO effective, after Ginny telling him his time would come.

I wish I knew who you were so I could fangirl you properly.

I read these on Aggiebell's recommendation and I'm so happy I did. You have captured Neville perfectly. Each piece is it's own little gem. I think my favorite is Neville and Hat, as someone who writes sorting stories, this is very dear to me. Awesome job!!!
