Will you be giving fic or art? Fic
Would you prefer to receive fic or art? I'd prefer fic, but art is great too
For the gift you'll receive:
3-5 preferred characters: Theodore Nott, Blaise Zabini, Regulus Black, Pansy Parkinson, Neville Longbottom, Peter Pettigrew (okay, that's six, but I couldn't leave Peter out. *_*)
Preferred genres, prompts, scenarios you'd like to see in your gift: Time travel is always welcome. :) AUs are fantastic, especially ones that buld off little 'what if's in canon. Friendship fic is always a favourite. I really like fic that expands on minor characters and the details of the wizarding world. What's wizarding university like? Can you get a Mastery without being apprenticed? What are all the interesting magical jobs we don't get to hear about? What are other countries like in the HPverse? As for prompts -- Harry Potter is locked in a room with a bunch of Slytherins. Peter realises just how badly he's screwed up his life and, showing hidden reserves of courage and moral fortitude, manages to time-travel back to the past and fix everything. Pansy becomes a lawyer and/or singlehandedly reforms the government of Wizarding Britain. Minor characters hang out and are adorable friends! (That last one could apply to anyone, really.) AU futurefic is love. I love drama, but happy friendshippy things make me squee. ♥
Characters, genres, scenarios etc. you don't want in your gift: No character bashing, please. Everyone has their good and bad sides. Stay away from 'Housetyping' if you can -- I don't want to read about Hufflepuffs being useless and Slytherins being eeeeeevil. I'd prefer no tragedy (I like moderately happy stuff) but if that's what you really want to write/draw, go for it. I have a bit of an embarrassment squick. Nothing about the next-gen kids, please, unless you're willing to make them very different from their parents.
For the gift you'll create:
Characters you'd rather not write/draw: I like Ron and Hermione, but I'm really not much good at them. Same goes for most of the Weasleys, really. I mostly don't enjoy writing Marauder-era fic. I don't think I could write young Tom Riddle.
Genres, scenarios etc. you'd rather not write/draw: Tragedy is something I'm not good at. Neither is anything super-big on all the Gryffindors without lots of characters from the other houses. Anything that requires knowing a lot of geography is right out. ;)
Any part of canon you'd rather not see included (i.e. Deathly Hallows Epilogue, Tales of Beedle the Bard, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Quidditch Through the Ages: I barely remember Deathly Hallows (to this day, I'm not completely sure I actually read it), but otherwise I'm fine with going full-canon on everything or just throwing it all out the window. My favourites are generally post-GoF fics, though.
Up to which rating can you legally read/view? (PG-13/R/NC-17) R, though I'd prefer a light R or lower
Have you read the full rules above? Yes
Have you participated in springtime_gen before? (if yes, and you happen to remember, mention whom you wrote/drew for): No
