For the gift you'll receive:
3-5 preferred characters: Ginny, Lily, Harry, Hermione, Neville
Preferred genres, prompts, scenarios you'd like to see in your gift: I love AUs, taking a point in canon and twisting it; I love friendship fics; I love fics that explore the wizarding world as a whole and its place in the bigger picture.
Here are some ideas I had floating around in my head, feel free to use them as a starting point, or whatever:
* Neville-Hermione friendship, either missing moments, post-canon, or AU (maybe adopt-eachother-as-sibilings?)
* in many stories (to the point where it's almost a cliche now), the British wizarding world is shown as being "backwards" or lagging behind other magical cultures. What if the opposite was actually true? That the rest of the world's magical cultures were even more conservative/repressive/xenophobic?
* Harry raised by someone other than the Dursleys, Remus, Sirius or the Malfoys (maybe Andromeda and Ted Tonks? Longbottoms? Someone else entirely?) Doesn't have to start from the beginning - can pick a scene from canon and show how it might have turned out differently depending on who Harry was raised by
Characters, genres, scenarios etc. you don't want in your gift: next gen kids; unrelenting angst; one dimensional characters of any flavor (e.g. doormat!Hufflepuffs, only evil!Slytherins, LawfulStupid!Gryffindors); character bashing anyone; graphic torture scenes; unhappy endings

For the gift you'll create:
Characters you'd rather not write/draw: next gen; Malfoys; Snape; Mungdus Fletcher; ghosts; Greyback; Umbridge
Genres, scenarios etc. you'd rather not write/draw: heavy angst/tragedy, unhappy endings, hate!fic
Any part of canon you'd rather not see included (i.e. Deathly Hallows Epilogue, Tales of Beedle the Bard, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Quidditch Through the Ages:
For receiving, anything is fine
For writing, I'm not particularly fond of DH so most of what I write will either be pre-DH or AU
