You write a very engrossing story. I'm facinated by Cho's adaptations to her new life. Even though I know she ends up in the Room of Requirement at the end of DH. I can't see how she gets there, but I want to know.

You did a great job of creating the Chinese wizarding world. I love the teacher who explains the rules about foreign charms. I love the ministry bureaucrat. Your description of visinting the ministry and the tall muggle skyscrapers that surround it was the best physical description I've read in this entire fest. It was lovely and clever.

This is great!

Thank you -- physical descriptions aren't really my strong point, so I'm very flattered by that!

This is marvellous! I love all the descriptions of wizarding China, and its obvious differences from everything we know in canon -- the 'revolution in culture' (::snerk::), wizarding etiquette, flying carpets instead of brooms, etc.

My particular favourite was the idea of spells losing their power based on which language was used for the incantation in which geographical location -- that is fascinating, and makes so much sense. As far as I'm concerned, that is officially canon for me.

And, of course, seeing Cho from her own perspective as a child of multiple ancestries -- Chinese, British, magical -- is wonderful, especially since we really don't get much of her in canon. That last scene with her and Michael was so poignant. Onward to the next part. :)

Thanks --I'd always vaguely had the idea that there'd have to be alternative non-Latin versions of spells just from the general nature of things, but this was the first time it ever mattered to a story. :)
