I enjoyed reading this. (The question of why British kids would play softball did give me pause, but then I decided that it didn't really matter and maybe it was a more popular game than I knew. Besides it set up the move to Quidditch well.)

You do an excellent job describing the action of the game, which is something I struggle with as a writer.

I loved the idea of attaching a fake snitch to a flying carpet. I thought Antonin was a charming child. I loved the vision of Quidditch played for fun.

Deleted my last comment about how much fun this was to read a second time. (I totally stand by that statement, by the way.) I wanted to add another comment and I didn't want to just rack up little one sentence comments all day. So in addition to being fun to read a second time, this fic totally nails the portrayal of Ginny. I liked her, she was kind to Antonin but in her rough way and she was in charge, tough and impatient, but also kind and sensitive to how to treat the first year. I liked how you wrote her. She read like she did in the books.

Im glad you enjoyed the story. I really wanted to write a good quidditch fic (both b/c I know that r_becca likes them and b/c Ive had issues getting them right previously). Ginny was, of course, the star of my little show. Im a huge h/g fan, but I always tend to stick with Harry's POV in my writing. It makes me happy that you think I got it right from the other side. It makes me even happier that you think I got it that close to the books. Thats high praise ( ... )

Boy are you brave mystery author in writing Quidditch! And great job too!
I especially like the creative way you solved the issue of the missing golden snitch!

I needed to try Quidditch. I'd tried before and it never met my standards, but r_becca wanted Quidditch, it really seemed to be the impetus I needed to get it right. Glad you agree :)

As for the Snitch, the carpet was her idea, but it fit right in with my realization that with the whole 'flesh memory' thing, they wouldnt want random students using their snitches. So it all went together nicely.

Thanks for the review, and I glad you enjoyed the story :)

Very nice, mystery author - this is a fun, light-hearted piece that highlights the fun in Quidditch. I like how all the houses were having fun together and playing fair on their own.

Yeah, I really wanted a nice 'recess' type of situation. The kids all playing together despite cliques and stuff, which sports always seem to be good at doing. Glad you liked the result.

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You wrote me Quidditch!fic! You really know what a girl wants. :)
I love this glimpse of Ginny, confident and capable but in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. I love the details of the strategy and the play-by-play, and I think the OCs add more depth to the story -- I loved Ginny's interactions with Antonin especially. :)

And yay flying carpet! I can't remember if I requested that as an element, but I've been on a huge flying carpet kick lately, really dying to read about them in fic, so that was completely perfect. Thank you for a wonderful gift -- I can't wait to find out who you are!

Hee!! Im thrilled you liked it. I really wanted to get the whole Quidditch thing right for you. I knew you liked it, and after the conversations for your own challenge (where I had to bite my lip to not say anything) I knew how much you liked it :)

Im so happy that you liked all the things I worked on in this: Ginny, Antonin, the game itself. And yeah, Ginny's interactions with Antonin, especially at the end, was my favorite.

Yes, the carpet was in your request, but it was so perfect, I couldnt not use it. So once, more, Im glad you liked it.

ps: I swear my ears were ringing just from reading your first line...

This made me smile! It's a really nice outtake, and your Ginny is lovely. It was nice to see Hermione without Harry and Ron, too. I loved Antonin - yay for house unity! Finally, the flying carpet was a brilliant addition.

Whee! I like it when people are happy reading my stuff. I worked hard to get Ginny right, and Im happy you think I got it right. And yeah, I figured Hermione couldnt spend all her time in the library studying, even if she did spend all her time studying.

Antonin really seems to have become the breakout star of this little tale. Everyone loves him.

Btw: good job on this story on the poll :) I guess its a good thing when readers start to recognize my writing...
