Ooh, that's lovely and brooding and claustrophobic and Romilda Vane is terrifying.

Aching for a drink at eleven o'clock; Father would be proud.

Wonderful, bitter little detail. I loved it.

I really liked the insight into Severus's feelings here; he's such an opaque character in canon. Like lazy_neutrino, the comment about aching for a drink and the reminder of his father really struck me as I was reading.

As for the overall story, woo, that was depressing! But sadly plausible if things hadn't played out so well in DH. I especially liked Lucius's character - he's a slippery one, that Malfoy!

I liked Snape's voice in this piece. I believed what I was reading. Like Lyras, and Lazy Neutrino I liked the line about aching for a drink at eleven and being like his father. There was a nice touch of bitterness in Snape without going to far.

Your picture of the world was well thought out. I liked the youth organization, the fact that V. was willing to accept the appearance of loyalty. You did a great job with Lucius' and Snape's relationship as well.

Oh I loved this. *g* You characterised Severus really well! And I really liked your Romilda Vane. And like everybody else, I loved that line about aching for a drink. It shows Severus' personality really well.

And the student organisation! *g*

Thank you so much, mystery writer!

That was intense, and very dark too. I liked your Snape, jaded, but not able to suppress his disgust with the 'new world' Voldemort creates and what it does to his (and Dumbledores, I felt) school. It's almost a form of passive resistance, writing down his thoughts, and even that is enough to destroy him in the end. I loved his sarcasm... like
RV is quite the little Death Eater. The Dark Lord salivates over her like an adolescent. He can barely wait to get her into the Ministry, where she can really do some damage. The 'young people for progress' (amazing title there, too) were very chilly and effective, with Romilda the most glaring poster child. It read like HP inspired by 'The Wave', doubly chilling because it had that sort of insidious darkness creep into the familiar wizarding world and infect even characters like Zacharias, or seemingly innocent first years ( ... )
