I like the idea that Regulus and Snape were allied together against Voldemort. And the hallucinations were handled really well.

There's a cup on his lips and four-year-old Regulus knows that his brother loves him so he drinks.

Nice.

Creepy. I like Regulus' bravery, the back-story with Severus and the sense of urgency through the whole story. The hallucinations almost killed me with their cruelty. And the ending - so painful!

This is completely and thoroughly fantastic, and I'm so terribly sorry that I didn't get to you with a comment any earlier. I adore every bit of it, really -- the little tensions and the dynamic between Regulus and Sirius that you've hinted at (and especially the fact that Regulus has planned and researched and knows almost exactly what's going on, nice contrast with the part in HBP where things are a little less certain) and the idea of the whole thing -- this definitely isn't a scenario I'd have come up with or expected, but it works and it's brilliant.

As much as they've had their problems and lack of communication, Regulus knows that Sirius will protect him.

While there were other lines here that were far more gorgeous, this was the bit where I sort of grinned wildly and went yes, because that's exactly it. I rather firmly believe in the idea that Sirius & Regulus are both closer to and more concerned about each other than either of them would actually admit, and that line's rather fabulous ( ... )
