Oooh, this is wonderful! A highly enjoyable, intelligent story. I really do like it enormously.

Each of your characters is spot on - Snape's snark, Remus' caring and Tonks' energy, they're all lovely here. I, along with Remus, am somewhat taken aback at feeling sorry for Snape here.

And I like the sad, incomplete ending, as well. It feels fitting for this story about people losing their sense of self.

Well, I'm quite impressed that you managed to work all of my favorite characters in, and a mystery too! I guessed it was Umbridge, because it really is just the sort of crime that she would commit -- good catch on her affinity with dementors in canon.

The Snape-Lupin interaction here is delicious, particularly the "if you want a fuck I would suggest looking somewhere outside of Azkaban" line. Snerk.

Honestly, when I was writing it took a lot of effort for me not to slash Snape/Lupin. :-P I kept reminding myself that the point of this was gen not PWP.

Oh, my brain was interpreting this as Snape/Lupin the entire time, even when I was trying to fight it. Remus' feeling of something missing at the end was my sly way of indicating he was missing a chance with Snape. *g*

I've only written one short Snupin ficlet for someone before. I need to write something smutty.
