That was a great take on McGonagall's character, and a very interesting story! I must admit that Dumbledore's reaction to Ron and Hermione's death seems terribly blasé to me, but I can't help thinking that this is quite IC for him, given the way he keeps endangering students in the books when it suits his purposes...

Oh, this is well done! Nicely written and emotionally powerful. What was particularly interesting to me was how well you caught the quality of youthful insecurity in the face of new responsibilities that never seems to leave anybody, regardless of how old they get.
