Some Servers Need to KNOW How to Take a Customer's Order

Some servers today don't know how to take your order in a restaurants. Sometimes, I honestly have had better luck getting my order correct at fast food restaurants at times. It's sad, it really is.

A good example, is twice I have ordered the garden salad at Red Lobster with saying "No tomatoes and No cucumbers." BOTH times, the servers made the side ( Read more... )

"You said "Can I get mozzarella sticks with ranch," not, "Can I get mozzarella sticks with the marinara and ranch.""

I AM, by ordering the menu item that has I get marinara with it, that's how. KNOW THE MENU BETTER THAN ME, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. I read I would AUTOMATICALLY get the sauce it comes with, which is marinara in this case, WHY would I have to repeat what the menu states I get no matter what, huh? I am not stating in *ANY* form or manner that I do not want the sauce it came with. That's you assuming, not getting what the customer ordered. The customer ordered both without repeating the sauce it comes with automatically. It's on the **MENU** already. No need to repeat, just as if a customer orders mozzarella sticks as stated on the menu, they don't have to say "I want the marinara", so WHY because some other sauce is ordered, that would mean a substitution? It doesn't. The menu states I get marinara, so I get it, plan and simple, unless I specifically state in any way, shape or form I don't want the marinara such as "no marinara" or "ranch instead of marinara" or "substitute ranch for marinara."

"Had you said the second, you would have gotten the service you wanted,"

No, I have said both before and another server ran it out wrong before, so NO it's not a guarantee. Also, I shouldn't have to if it's ON THE ******************MENU**************************** already if someone orders it just like this "I would like the mozzarella sticks" that they get it without repeating the menu description, WHY wouldn't anyone else that didn't state in some manner they didn't want the marinara it came with, huh?

I am ALREADY ORDERING IT.

""Mozzarella Sticks
Golden fried and served with a tasty marinara sauce."

See, I am already ordering it. I don't need to talk about the marinara at all. I am ordering the mozzarella sticks, it COMES with marinara no matter WHAT, unless the customer stated they didn't want the sauce it came with in some manner.

"or are YOU too lazy to specify what you want?"

It IS specified, as a server you have to compare the MENU with what the customer ordered. You can't go by 100% just by the customer, you have to compare the menu descriptions as well and then determine the order. In the chicken sandwich situation, I didn't receive lettuce and the awesome blossom strings. Those were **ON THE MENU** ALREADY. I didn't need to say those since I had some "NO" this and that as shown above in my original posts and added things. I didn't state no lettuce and no awesome blossom strings. They COME on the sandwich.

WHY ARE **YOU** to LAZY TO COMPARE THE MENU AND WHAT THE CUSTOMER ORDERED TO DETERMINE WHAT THEY ARE ORDERING, HUH?

I went by the menu description when I ordered in both situations. No need to repeat the menu. It's there for a reason, for YOU to know I want what comes with an item already. I shouldn't know the menu BETTER than you do.
