ANY OVERCHARGES ARE IN THE SERVER'S CONTROL(unless they don't hand you your check) springs1 December 12 2009, 03:35:53 UTC

"Unless YOU the CUSTOMER asked if this price was correct BEFORE you ordered the server could have verified or just said "Oh yes thats actually $X.XX now.""

The price on the menu IS the correct price, because I ORDERED from that menu. I NEVER ORDERED FROM THE COMPUTER TO CONSENT TO ANOTHER PRICE, DID I?

I would like to know, when YOU go even to a store or the mall, you have NEVER ONCE in your lifetime told the cashier "The sign says it's such-n-such price" when something was a different price you decided to buy in the computer at any store? I HAVE MANY OF TIMES, MANY, MANY, MANY, because I CARE about my money unlike YOU. I don't fault the cashiers, because they don't get TIPPED and they would have to walk to each shelf for each item as well as prices change every week sometimes in stores. The most important reason is they aren't getting PAID to give flying FUCK about anyone else's money. Even if they were tipped, it would be unreasonable to make let's say a cashier at Wal-Mart walk for a mile or whatever amount to each shelf to find each item, because that would take 10-20 minutes or more whereas, a server can just do a simple comparison, taking maybe a minute to a minute and a half for that pretend check for example. Sure, the bigger the check, the longer it would take, but that small check, you can check those prices pretty quickly. Places like Outback, you can keep a TO-GO MENU IN YOUR APRON, so you have a menu at ALL TIMES and don't need to go to the hostess's stand all the time to get a menu.

So I don't need to ask my server if the price is correct, because that's their JOB to make sure the price on the MENU matches the computer and the computer price is NOT CORRECT, because when the customer ordered the item, they were willing to pay what was **ADVERTISTED** on the menu.

WE DO NOT ORDER FROM A FUCKING COMPUTER YOU FUCKING IMBECILE!! THE COMPUTER PRICE MEANS NOTHING!!

I don't care if a burger and fries ring up $100, because the price on the MENU is what matters. The computer price I don't what it is to have said I wanted to buy that item, so HOW can you say I should go by something BLINDLY per say when I choose to buy something? I don't just buy something and not know how much it is.

"The $.30 you were over changed... its not worth getting this upset over in the least!"

That is your opinion. My opinion is I don't want it to keep happening when I go back for weeks or months to come to get overcharged DOLLARS by the time then if it doesn't get fixed and the server gets a bigger tip out of it. 30 cents doesn’t really add much to the tip, but for some people in this economy, it's something.

I get upset at not the money as much, but the UNCARING AND LAZINESS of servers today that aren't even TRYING to do their job CORRECTLY. They can take a menu and compare it to the check just as we have. There are NO EXCUSES. If you have time to write "Thank you" on the check and sign your name with smiley faces, you have time to check the check prices. If you have time to get refills or ranch or napkins or bring food or whatever, you make the time to do your job CORRECTLY, because there's no point in doing your job wrong, is there?
