CORNWALL
Not much cricket, lots of holiday.
Went to Cornwall with Ebru for a week, found a nice self catering apartment South of Saint Ives and spent the week on the beaches or exploring. Highlights included:
Seeing my childhood holiday spot at Teignmouth on the way down - magnificent red sandstone cliffs, just south of Exeter.
Having cloudy dramatic weather - but only when travelling down and back, the rest of the time we had some beautiful sunshine. Cornwall is like the Peak district with beaches.
So, so, so many huge beautiful beaches, me and E played cricket on a 3 mile long beach at midday, and there were only 10-20 other people on it!
Walking on the Lizard peninsula and looking at the strange semi-tropical shrubs - 15 foot tall spiky rhubarb anyone.
Cooking together all week, saving our money like good little dormice and then spending it all in Rick Steins Seafood Restaurant in Padstowe.
