Hatori had once told her that he only treated members of the Sohma family. Yet when she had fallen ill with a cold a few days before, he had come over without a fuss after Shigure had called him. Tohru was not a Sohma, yet Hatori treated her like a patient. This wasn't even the first time he had done so.
Later on in the day, feeling a little better, Tohru had decided to sit outside. The sun was just barely touching the horizon, and the sky was ablaze with various shades of orange and pink. A sunset like any other, and Tohru still found it beautiful.
Although her attention was focused on the sunset, she was not surprised when she heard Hatori step outside and sit down next to her. "You shouldn't be out here yet," he told her. "You still need rest."
"But I'm feeling better thanks to you!" Tohru said, turning her head toward Hatori.
"It's still a cold. It has to run its own course."
"I know, but I'm still grateful for your help." Tohru inhaled a deep breath, and she felt a light autumn breeze on her face.
"Don't overexert yourself. I can only do so much for you."
"But what you can do for me is a great comfort, Hatori-san."
A small smile came upon Hatori's lips. "You're very kind, Honda-san."
Tohru supposed that it was the autumn wind that made her drowsy, and she had the most wonderful dream where she was resting her head on Hatori's shoulder and he was whispering something gentle to her. Yes, the most wonderful dream…
