A/N: This prompt is for February 27. I apologize for its tardiness.
"Stay away from me," Rosa whispered, pressing her back against the cold stone wall. This isn't the Kain that I know, she reminded herself as the dragoon made his way toward her. He's an honorable man. He wouldn't do this if he wasn't being controlled. "Please, Kain, don't do this. Let me go."
He stopped, hovering over her, his motions suddenly clumsy and unlike his normal graceful form. "So you can go back to Cecil..." His voice filled with bitterness. "And forget me like before?"
"I've never forgotten you." A twinge of guilt replaced her fear and sadness. "It just...it's always been Cecil. You knew that when we were together. You knew..."
"That he could never love you the way I do."
She didn't protest when he tossed his helmet aside and took her in his arms, didn't resist when he pressed his lips to hers. He smelled of metal and fresh armor oil and the leather he wore beneath the protective skin. Her arms slipped around his neck instinctively. She couldn't help but remember how long she'd loved Cecil and how long he'd ignored her for his job. Kain had always been there, waiting for her in the background, loving her until the Dark Knight had come to his senses.
"We shouldn't do this," she whispered against the warmth of his face.
"I can save you," Kain promised, "where he cannot. I can get you out of here while he's off chasing crystals."
"He'll come." Rosa fought the twinge of doubt that had tortured her from the time they'd locked her in the tower room. "I know he will, Kain. He..."
"Loves you?"
Her bottom lip trembled, but she didn't cry. She refused to show her weakness in front of her captor, in front of one who had loved her and betrayed her with the same breath. Still, he was warm and he'd never hurt her. She couldn't believe he would hurt her now.
"Kain..."
He discarded his gauntlets first. They landed atop his helmet as did the rest of his armor. She couldn't deny the desire that stirred in the pit of her stomach when she felt his erection, firm and bold through his pants.
"Love me," he begged, pulling her to the floor with him as he dropped into the corner she'd abandoned.
She didn't protest when his hands slipped beneath her robes, found herself eager to explore his body the way she once had. They were so lost in one another that when the door opened, they didn't hear him, didn't realize Golbez had caught them until his deep laughter filled the room.
When the dark-armored form towered over them, Rosa sensed Kain's gentleness turn to fear and anger. His eyes glazed over. The hands caressing her trembled when he reached for his spear.
"No need to stop on my account," Golbez rumbled. "Though you are human, you are both beautiful creatures and I have not had...fulfillment...in a long while."
The laugh that followed chilled Rosa's blood and obviously did little to comfort Kain.
"Don't hurt her," the dragoon said, rising to stand between them. His grip on the spear loosened and the weapon clattered to the tiled floor, useless.
"That was hardly what I had in mind." Laughter again. "Though pain often leads to pleasure, Kain." He backed the warrior to the wall, clutched at the bulge in his pants with metal-clad fingers.
The wail of pain that slipped from Kain's lips sounded anything but human. But, the cry was short-lived as Golbez's grip loosened. He freed Kain from his pants, stroked the erection with an almost gentle motion, until the tension slipped from the dragoon's body and his cock quivered in his evil lord's hand.
She'd never been a coward, but the white mage cowered back when Golbez extended his free hand to her. He waited a moment and then commanded in a rough voice, "Come here, girl, or he dies."
Though her feelings for Kain had changed over the years, there was still some part of her that loved him, some part of her that would sacrifice herself, do whatever needed to be done, to save him. She slipped her trembling fingers into Golbez's gloved ones, steeling herself against the touch of hard, cold steel.
"It won't be so bad," he promised, his voice softening. The humor returned. "In fact, it might even be fun." Releasing her into Kain's embrace, he turned to remove his armor piece by piece, his movements slow and deliberate. "I hear you're quite fond of my brother and we're so much alike."
"Brother?" Rosa looked to Kain in question, but the dragoon shook his head and shrugged.
Long fair hair spilled from beneath the helm when Golbez removed it; the last piece of armor to go. Rosa's stomach twisted into a knot. Just the night before she'd admired the way the firelight played off locks the same color, with the same wave.
"No," she whispered. It couldn't be. Nooooo, her mind protested, while her heart pounded in fear. My dearest, Cecil, how can this be? This monster we've been fighting...he looks...he looks just like you.
Golbez turned with a smirk on his face and an erection that frightened her. Muscles rippled across his chest and shoulders when he reached for her. His hard body pressed against hers as he pulled her into an embrace.
"I can see why he wants you, why he cherishes you so." Golbez leaned near, buried his face in her hair. "So pure, so vulnerable."
"Just pretend he's Cecil," Kain whispered into her ear.
Together, they undressed her until she stood naked, pressed between them, cheeks stained with tears. Closing her eyes, she thought of her love. He was nothing like them, kind and gentle, pure and strong.
He'll come for me. She resisted the urge to say it aloud. Please, Cecil, hurry. Don't leave me here alone.
