Title: Lost
Author:
misuraRating: PG for implied romance
Warnings: implied Ruwalk/Alfeegi and Rath/Cesia (not that the Tetheus/Kai-stern is anything other than implied, mind you) and a seriously fluffed-up prompt.
Summary: One man's nightmare is another man's dream-holiday.
A/N: A shortie. Ack, sorry, my Internet went poof! for three days. Will post late prompts later.
"I don't believe you," said Alfeegi bluntly.
"Fine," Kai-stern shrugged.
"But all the same," continued Alfeegi, "I think it's best to warn people to stay away from that place. No harm in being cautious, after all. Just think, it might have been me accompanying you on that trip!"
"What a nightmare that would have been," Kai-stern said dryly.
"Of course, I'd rather have died than ... well. Fortunately for all of us, Tetheus is apparently a bit more flexible when it comes to these sorts of things."
"You have got no idea," Kai-stern told him, blushing ever so slightly.
Alfeegi chose not to notice. "Well," he said.
"But I thought you said you didn't believe me?" Kai-stern went on.
"I don't," Alfeegi said. "It's ridiculous. I mean, what possible use could anyone have for ... "
"Alfeegi! Kai-stern!" Ruwalk ran into the room, looking slightly panicked. "Rath says he wants to go and find those creatures you and Tetheus met! We have to stop him!"
"Why?" Alfeegi shrugged. "Let him go and hunt them down - good riddance, I'd say."
"Alfeegi!" Ruwalk exclaimed. "Don't be such an idiot! We can't simply let him go off on his own like that, while we haven't even got the slightest clue what we're up against. We should investigate first, see what we can find out about this particular type of demon - if they even are demons."
"It might be a good idea to send a pair of Dragon Officers," Tetheus proposed. "Of course, Kai-stern and I have already encountered these creatures ... "
Alfeegi opened his mouth and closed it again.
"An excellent idea," agreed Kai-stern. "It's high time for you and Ruwalk to get out of Draqueen again for a while anyway, and this sounds like the perfect opportunity."
"I'm not ... " Alfeegi stammered. "That's not ... I can't ... Kai-stern!"
"That's settled then," Ruwalk said. "I'll go pack."
("With Cesia?" Rath asked, five minutes later. "Why would I want to do that? I just thought they might tell me where I could find a really strong demon to fight.")
