I actually wanted to take a bit more time with the transition between the shock of discovery and acceptance, but was already running behind deadline. I'm glad that it didn't read as too rushed.

I don't think you have anything to worry about; the moments where she describes finding clues to Haruhi's gender is ambiguously balanced enough that it portrays a good sense of time and efficiently prevents a hurried feeling.
