Tezuka knows he should be happy, cheering with his team, reveling in the satisfaction of their win, but he can't.

Fuji's smile is bright, eyes sparkling with happiness hopefully because of their victory. Tachibana is close to him, whispering in Fuji's ear to no doubt be heard above the crowd.

Not knowing why, he begins to walk closer, hoping to figure out why he needs to whisk Fuji away from Tachibana before he gets there. Nearing where they're standing, can hear them now, and hopes he can stop himself from punching someone in the face.

"I was glad to play you. It was nothing," Tachibana says lightly, and leans over to give Fuji a kiss on the cheek.

In the span of five seconds, any remaining elation at winning the Nationals spills out of his body, an icy chill replacing it. Tezuka takes a deep breath, hoping to swallow everything down, wondering if he'll yell if actually dares to open his mouth.

"Fuji," he says, reaching out to pull Fuji to him, and tries to block out the voice in his head, calling him an idiot. He knows that well enough already.

Cocking his head in question, Fuji looks at him, but doesn't pull away. "Do you need something, Tezuka?"

"You," he says before he can stop himself, and doesn't know whether he wants Fuji to know the implications or not. All he really knows is that he wants Fuji away from people like Tachibana, wants him where he belongs, just wants him.

Fuji's lips curl into a languid smile and he rests his own hand on Tezuka's back. Looking over his shoulder, Fuji gives Tachibana slight nod of his head, "Again, my thanks."

Snorting, Tachibana rolls his eyes, and heads in the direct of his waiting team, replying loudly, "Don't thank me yet."
