Her pale back shudders as the wet brush drags across her skin. Each stroke twists drawing elegant curves and twirls on the flesh canvas. Wet bristles slide along her spine causing shudders to slide down; a soft, airy moan escaping from her rosy lips. Chilled bristles turn at the nape of her neck and travel along her shapely shoulders.
Craning her neck she tries to catch a glimpse of what was being drawn on her back. Winry had tried to follow the pattern but now she was lost. Fingers dig into the hard wood floor as her upper back turns slowly.
“Nah-uh,” Ed whispers as he pushes her straight again. “No peeking until I’m done. Now hold still so I don’t mess up.” Fingers slide down her soft arm.
Sighing Winry resettles on the hardwood floor, shifting on the pillow that she sits on and mentally starts taking apart automail parts, organizing them in her head and replacing them. She tries different combinations, trying to make a newer, stronger, sleeker model.
Wet bristles begin sliding along her back again. Slowly they twist on themselves, lonely ends connecting and crossing each other as they begin to take shape. A hitched breath and an arched back betrays a ticklish spot- one that Ed burns into his memory for later, it is always useful to know of her weak spots- as the bristles leave her spine and slide along the middle of her back to her side.
Arms cross across her chest as Winry senses Ed moving from his position behind her. Arms cover breasts as she sneaks a glance at Ed. Blond tresses slip away from her sloppy bun, stray strands framing her face.
Ed’s breath freezes as he stares, brush dangling in hand at the beautiful sight before him. Swallowing he sets the brush down, eyes never leaving Winry’s beautiful face.
“So, are you done?” Winry’s voice breaks the stare that had become uncomfortable for the girl.
Blushing Ed slid behind his girlfriend again as he held up a small, tin plate. It was not the best mirror for the work that he had put into the work. The pattern was distorted from the creases that nails had caused. And the reflection dulled enough that Winry had to squint to follow the lines; yet it made her gasp.
On her back was a beautiful, exotic pattern of a cross. At each point was a small foreign sign that she could not place. But that enhanced the beauty of it, not knowing what the letters- she assumed- meant allowed her mind to fly to the ends of the world and beyond. In her mind, she allowed them to represent just how deep Ed really felt for her, words that he could never say.
“It’s beautiful!” She whispered as she stared at the cracked mirror before her. Arms hug her chest tighter as she stares, her naked body reflecting back at her. Legs curl in on themselves unconsciously. “Where did you ever find such a beautiful design?” Reaching out she brushes at the refection of the pattern that shakes on the small mirror.
“Xing,” Ed whispers as he sits the tin plate down. He had learned a lot from his forced visit there. “It’s supposed to represent a long and prosperous life together with your chosen one.”
“Well,” Winry turns around on her pillow, arms sliding away from her chest to steady her as she kneels before Ed. “I think it’s working already.” Leaning forward she reaches up, fingers sliding along a firm jaw.
Eyes flutter shut as she closes the space between them. Her breasts push against the firm chest as lips lock. A soft, chaste kiss. Breaking the kiss, as the two chests separate, Winry smiles sweetly before craning her head over her shoulder. From the edge of her vision she can spot the pattern from the mirror. Again she smiles.
Yes, she decides while staring lovingly at her back. It defiantly is working already.
