Akatoki agency's publicist's voice droned from the speakers, though Sho could hear him speaking clearly from the chair next to him. From the corner of his eye, Shoko shifted uneasily in her seat, consulting and scribbling on her journal whenever a reporter raised his hand.

No doubt she's never been in this condition before- the artist under her charge losing to his temper and letting off the steam on his newly plagiarist rival. The president was furious and their publicist immediately announced a press conference. Sho was fully aware that he's tarnishing his cool guy image by going for a public apology, and on top of that, to his own copycat.

But even under the reporters prying eyes and blazing flashes, Sho felt a certain kind of pride brimming inside for socking that talentless, cult freak beagle.

"Sho-san, do you know that your actions have cause Reino-san to be hospitalized?"

Numerous blitz flashed in succession, capturing Sho's open mouthed reaction at the reporter's query.

"We've been keeping in touch with Vie Ghoul's manager about Reino-san's health condition, and the latest news said that he was recuperating," the publicist said to his microphone.

Another hand flew into the air. "Is it true that Reino-san suffered five broken ribs, dislocated his jaw and numerous bruises on his face and body?"

Somebody let out a very loud gasp. It took Sho five seconds to realize it came from his own throat. He had purposely hit the beagle on covered places--the face was off limits, he was deadly sure of it. Numerous hands raised into the air, followed by the sound of countless shutters.

"Is it true the reason was because of an affair Reino-san has with Kyoko, the actress that played Hongo Mio in Dark Moon?"

"Our sources has confirmed that Reino-san and Kyoko entered a forest in Karuizawa, where Kyoko later emerged with ripped stockings and buttons missing from her costume. Is it true you witnessed the so called affair?"

"Fuwa-san, did you see the whole thing and lose your temper right then and there?"

And Sho started feeling the thumping in his ears, his mind went blank. From his side, he felt someone grabbing his arm with considerable strength, perhaps Shoko or his publicist, he didn’t exactly care. Smacking his thighs roughly to the table, he got up and slammed his fists on the conference table forcefully, screaming at the top of his lungs: "He didn't have sexual relationship with that woman!"

"He didn't have sexual relationship with that woman!"

The TV was blocked from Ren's sight as Kyoko entered his emergency room ward and pulled the bed's curtain, effectively blocking him from the ruckus occurring in the ER section. Ren could see some reporters’ head bobbing left and right, searching for him, before Kyoko went in.

"Are your hands okay?"

He raised his hand, showing the bandaged knuckles. "Just a scratch," he answered with a smile.

When she gasped instead of looking less worried, he just realized he was actually sneering at her.

"Tsuruga-san, you..." Ren could see her pondering over the next words. "Looks like someone who just won a war."

Did he now? He could still remember the feeling of his fist connecting to someone's limb all those years or perhaps moments ago, the sound of something breaking beneath his fingers, the blood dripping from his fingers...

And above all that, unfathomable wrath that was leading where his anger should be directed.

"Are you okay?"

Kyoko seemed to flinch, but she didn't back down when he extended a hand to inspect her neck.

"I-I'm fine, really, Tsuruga-san," she suppressed a shiver as Ren touched her collar bone, "just bruises."

If only he didn’t know better - Ren had been trained by experience since his teens to recognize and how to efficiently inflict a hickie on someone’s flesh. The mark stood like a sore thumb. In her hurry, Kyoko had done nothing to cover it up, revealing to the entire ER of her latest achievement.

“He better not touch you again,” Ren heard himself say in a demanding tone - as if telling Kyoko to heed his orders. Beneath his fingers, he felt the girl tensing up, fighting a whimper from her mouth.

“O-of course not!” she answered, too quickly for Ren’s convenience, ducking away from his touch with the speed of a targeted gazelle. “I-if you’ll excuse me, Tsuruga-san, I need to go and meet Sawara-san immediately.”

Disliking the way she had ran off like a hunted prey, Ren decided not to give chase. The terror he just induced would last her for a lifetime, though he perfectly knew she’d seriously need some gentle coaxing for weeks in order to not fall into a dogeza position every time he’s in the vicinity.

Contrary to the current news, he moved to the other side of the curtain, and pulled it aside, watching the vocalist of Vie Ghoul nursing his bandaged torso and an arm in a sling. He had twisted Reino’s right arm up to his spine until an intimate degree and hissed his warning to Reino’s ear as softly as he could, but he was pretty sure Reino still flinched visibly at the sight of him. Reino had ducked and he had ended up punching the wall, and the dent on it had been enough of a warning for the singer.

“Did you hear that?”

Fear and hesitation to call for security seemed to mix badly in Reino’s façade, so Ren repeated his question.

This time though, the singer quickly moved away on the hospital bed, as far as his broken leg could bring him, and nodded repeatedly. “I’ll never, ever touch Akazukin-chan again, lion-sama.”

Moments passed. Somewhere outside the curtain, someone was screaming for more bandages, and dammit, someone get all these reporters out of the ER.
Reino audibly swallowed and wished for the shinigami to take his life sooner, as Tsuruga Ren, the actor famous for his gentlemen ways and captivating smile flashed him a blinding, giga-watt grin that sparkled with the ferocity of Akihabara at night. “Just call me Tsuruga.”
