The best option for the US in Iraq is ...
1) Keep the plans as they are now
2) Postpone elections indefinitely and continue attempts to suppress armed resistance.
3) Leave immediately and let the Iraquis sort out the mess themselves, even if that results in widespread civil war and heavy loss of life.
4) Postpone elections for a specified period, and state that we will withdraw no matter what happens in the elections
