A classic dilemma

According to some fairly recent research, people can significantly increase their lifespan if they cut their calorie intake to a very low level (like around 1500-1600 calories per day). This brings up the classic dieters dilemma in an even more extreme form - do I really WANT to live longer if I have to be hungry for most of my waking hours for the rest of my life? If I was given a stark choice between living to the age of 55 or 60 while eating burgers and Doritos all the time, or living to 100 eating broccoli and soybeans and brown rice, I honestly don't know which one I would choose. I would ask for some time to think on it - 40 extra years would be nice, but at the price of eating stuff I hate? Hmmmm
