I barely squeaked in--apparently, my day was the fifth, not the sixth, something I rediscovered about two hours ago.
Sorry for posting so late in the evening, and possibly infringing on someone else's day.
I've gotta start marking due dates on a calendar . . . I've gotta get a calendar. . .

Hee! The shock, then the laughter, because there's something funny about a guy running around Seattle with a friggin sword, lol.
I don't really know Highlander (apart from the original film and the xovers I've read) so I can't really comment on Adam's characterisation, other than to say that the world weariness of someone who'd lived that long shone out.
Thank you--if I got nothing else right, I wanted Adam's word-weariness and age. He's been around the block more times than he can count, and nothing impresses him anymore. Until he met Xander, he thought he'd seen it all, felt it all.
And Xander - well he was just terrific, just the right combination of foolhardiness, self preservation, bravery and sheer lunatic that we know and love.
Aw--there goes any pretense at modesty. I am no gonna be one cocky bastid for, like, ever, now.
Seriously, he's my favorite Buffy!verse character, possibly my favorite character of all time and I can pair him with damn near anyone, in my twisted little brain. But I've always thought he and Methos would make an excellent couple: the world's oldest Immortal, at a whopping 5000 years old, and possibly the world's youngest, at a dewy twenty-seven years old.
I'm off to read The Immortal 'verse now - you've got me hooked *g*
The first hit's always free. . . .
