ALSO though he was... kind of amused at the assumptions she made. For example, Medusa interpreted Ayanami's statement that he doesn't need anyone but himself as arrogance to the point of refusing to cooperate with anyone- which isn't true in the least, Ayanami will and does make use of anyone available to achieve his goals, but what he said was still true in that he does fully believe in his own capabilities, it just doesn't stop him stacking the odds even more in his favor anyway. He's perfectly content to leave things without correcting her on this point, however, her misinterpretation of what he said potentially gives him an edge, which he'll gladly use. But it also does nothing to improve his opinion of her intelligence.
So yeah BASICALLY while he is aware that she's not a force to be ignored, he also thinks she's a fool and is quite happy to leave these misunderstandings as they are to use to his own advantage. He doesn't see any point in testing her threats, of course, but he doesn't see any reason to fear her, either. That he DOES have an enormous amount of pride is one point she did correctly pick up on, after all.
Medusa's thoughts on Ayanami?

...In the sense that he's arrogant, and seems to have more of the meglomanical cult-leader mentality than anything she would respect more.
BASICALLY, although Medusa implied to Stein a while ago that she might be working with Ayanami (to see Stein's reaction), she has disliked Ayanami at all times.
Ayanami is rude, which is a big flag for her to start with. Like she sort of mentioned, it's arrogant to be rude to someone when you don't really know who they are. And even with people who are known (and inferior) quantities, being polite only shows that you're better than them before you take them down. ^_^
And Medusa makes a point of acknowledging that she's not infallible at all times, so the fact that Ayanami refused outright to acknowledge that he wasn't infallible was pretty much the last thing she needed to write him off as someone worth working with directly. And so, ultimatum. Which was more "I know what you've done, I'm not interested in humoring you anymore, stay away from me and mine" than anything else.
If something happens to make Medusa actually want to take Ayanami down a peg, she'll probably do something like... manipulate her opponents to oppose him more urgently. Because that is how Medusa works.
...UH. What's your favorite kind of ice cream? :Bb

What is your favorite thing about the characters you play?

Kimiko - I love playing her trying to make sense out of camp, and apply science to everything. Things like "well, if you got outside the barrier, wouldn't you just be in this universe's Louisiana?" and "maybe you could make a biting-powered motor"
Medusa - I love getting to be manipulative and lying and evil. XD I also love she has motivation for what she does, so I also love that I can slant canon and make her sound like the good guy when she's talking to people in camp a lot of the time.
...Your characters are assigned to be each other's secret Santas in some configuration. They have to do it. Who gets what for who?
