Where enchanted castles do exist

I have a weird habit of reading articles in wikipedia when bored. Sometimes my searches are concentrated on certain topics such as the Habsburg empire, World War II, deadly volcanic eruptions, oceanic trenches, etc. Sometimes my searches are random where I just jump from one link to another.

During my wiki surfing about the french aristocracy, I came across Diane de Poitiers, the mistress of Henry II who was gifted the Chateau de Chenonceau (which she would later on give up to Queen Catherine de Medici after the king's death).

Even as a child, I was already familiar with this chateau having seen a 3D paper model of it and being fascinated with the beautiful building. Lo and behold, beneath the wiki entry for Chenonceau are more links to chateaus collectively known as 'Chateaux of the Loire Valley'.

Now I dream of seeing these chateaus up close and in person. Some of my favorites are:

Of couse Chateau de Chenonceau, which is half castle half bridge.

Chateau de Villandry famous for its gardens.

Chateau de Valencay with its round towers.

And if I can only see one chateau, this would be my pick. Chateau de Chambord with its interesting roof.

Hmmm if only money grew on trees.
