First I want to say that for the last month I have had only my ipad to work on and keep up with everyone, but my PC is back and so far it's looking great so I can now continue on with our holiday to Hawaii

I think I mentioned that a lot of storms happen that time of year in the Pacific. It seems you were "treated" to some. lol.
How lovely to make a dream come true by swimming at Waikiki beach. I love Hawaii and have been to it 3 times, although the last time was in 1986, so I'm sure it's changed a lot since then.
Yes, the Japanese attack on US forces at Pearl Harbor is what really got us into WWII. It's one of those big events in our history, like the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York in 2001. As our President Franklin Roosevelt said at the time,
"Yesterday, Dec. 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan." More: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infamy_Speech
I guess you didn't go on the tour, but wow, is it moving. And it isn't just because it was US people affected. I think anyone would be moved by it.
I would have liked to go on the tour as I would have found it very interesting but we only had one day and that beach was calling to us, we did watch the films that were made at the time and the glossy Hollywood versions it was tragic to say the least but war is never good and so many countries are now in turmoil again will they never learn !! Many hugs dear friend
