A Day in My Life, the Sequel

Mar 17, 2011 21:43

This is my second ADIML. I'm a university student in Vancouver, Canada, and this post follows Sunday, February 6th as I go to Granville Island, study and play with my kitties!

45 Pictures total.

Ack, insomnia. I give up on sleep.

Theo is less than impressed. For a young cat, he sure loves to sleep.

I see this on the door to the washroom, left by my roommate. Obviously, Keely (her cat) has been a bad cat recently. She has issues with using the litter boxes (which are cleaned every single day!)

Keely is also surprised that a human is up and about at 4AM.

Brush my teeth, take a shower...

I watch an episode of my new favoritest TV show (6 years on the air, and I just noticed it) while I do my hair, makeup, and putz around on the internet.

Tada! I'm ready to go - at 5 AM. Yeah.

Miko, the most timid of all the kitties, comes into my room. She is unusually affectionate and calm, prodding her paws and purring and cuddly. I manage to nap for a bit.

I make some breakfast (that's apples in with my porridge.)

Coffeeeeeee. Very important.

A little "light" reading while I wait for my breakfast.

My Red River cereal with apples, cinnamon and brown sugar is ready. Nom.

It occurs to me that I have the chance to go to Granville Island today (I have been meaning to go for a few months) so I check the hours online.

Back in my bedroom, cat number four (Cassie-Cat) has made herself at home on my bed. I now have three cats in my room, for those who are keeping count.

And now I study. It's not that interesting, so this photo is a few hours later. After consuming 1 coffee and 1 pop I figure it's time to switch gears.

To an audio recording of a lecture on my awesome Christmas present Sony MP3 Player.

Multitasking! I fold laundry while listen.

Then do the dishes.

Though the weather forecast looks ugly, I decide to go to Granville Island anyways. First stop, Starbucks on the way to the bus stop.

See, awful weather. The view from the bus stop. I have no photos of the bus ride, because unexpectedly the bus was packed like it was rush hour! And, it turns out it's the day of the Chinese New Year parade. That explains the crowds.

To get to Granville Island, I need to transfer buses in downtown, Vancouver. I figure I can swing by Dressew and pick up some crafting supplies. Except they're not open on Sunday. Very sad.

Yay, I'm at Granville Island. First stop here, the Umbrella Shop. Someone stole my yellow umbrella the week prior, so I need to replace it.

It turns out, there are New Year celebrations at Granville Island too.

Outside the Granville Island public market are hoards of the ubiquitious pigeons.

Despite the weather, people still feed the birds.

I get lunch after I'm done shopping.

Before I leave, I MUST get a latte from the most amazing coffee & espresso place ever, JJ Bean.

Time check as I board the bus back to downtown. The weather is worse than forecasted, with heavy rain and wind.

The view from the bus as we cross the Granville bridge.

One bus transfer later. By the time I got my camera out, my glasses were a lot less foggy than they were when I initially boarded the bus.

Theo greets me at the door (he always does this) when I get home.

I study. With snacks!

Take a break and work on a picspam.

I do some laundry...

Then dinner. Rosemary lemon chicken from last night with lipton sidekicks and peas.

Chat with the room mate as she heads out for the evening.

Cassie-Cat loves only her.

More studying. Can you believe I only got a B+ on this exam?? Arrg.

So, it's time for bed. Especially since I woke up so early.

Medicine, and other pre bedtime activities.

Keely tries to convince me she's reformed and cute and cuddly. If only she had used her litter box today.

I set my alarm.

And go to sleep, with no insomnia this night.
