I heard an interesting discussion of the wildly popular "Madea Goes to Jail," the most recent movie in the "Madea" series, on WPFW tonight. I haven't seen any of these movies. Two recent articles in the Washington Post about this movie were mentioned-- First, a generally positive review by Philip Kennicott:

They made me a little curious about this film, which took in one-third of the film receipts last weekend, because, as the host of the WPFW show (Terry Kester) said, film is the literature of now.
