On the radio tonight
I will be filling in for Christine Moritz's radio show "Variety is the Spice of Life" on WMUC radio, 9 pm to midnight Eastern Time, on April 12 and 19, while Christine visits the UK.
Christine's usual fare on her show is downtempo, beats, nujazz, and more. She has a following all over the planet. For more, see: http://www.varietyisthespice.com/
I, however, will play what I know and love, which is indie pop and smatterings of jazz, blues, and a few other things. I'm going to check out whatever's in the new release drawer that looks good. And also, I recently heard on the WMUC yahoo group (e-mail list) that a student's parents recently donated tons of old vinyl to the station, including really cool things that probably got stolen out of the station earlier (or worn out through repeated play), such as the Talking Heads 77, Elvis Costello, etc.

Does anyone have any clue how long a lacrosse game would usually go? It is the State sport in Maryland, but hey, I didn't grow up in Maryland, and I am not a jock (not that there's anything wrong with that).
I formerly had my own show, sometimes called "Pop Vindalu, " on WMUC, which aired on and off between 1995 and 2005. Actually, WMUC is one of the oldest college radio stations around.
As of 7:45, no lacrosse. Dave's Record Collection is airing. You can see his playlist as he updates it.... http://wmucradio.com/station/playlists/display/5820
