Day 15: Your dreams

Sep 07, 2010 13:11

This morning: with the beginning of crispness in the air and schoolbuses around every bend. This morning found me in a new coffeeshop, drinking tea and writing about who I want future me to be.

I wrote pages. The summary follows:

I want a collaborative theatre group of passionate people who are dedicated to creating innovative work.

Here is my mission statement:

We are beyond traditional types. You will not know the bad guy by his black hat. He might not be wearing black, have a mustache or be a guy. You will only know him as the one whose objectives differ from yours. You will only know her as the one you wish to see fail in her cause. And then, if we have succeeded, you will ask yourself why.

We will go beyond schadenfreude to get at the heart of conflict and drama. New works in new ways with a company that's interested in exploding old ideas of type to create work that challenges social norms and creates community through dialogue.

This is rough and ready and new and I am so excited.

I plan to direct Closer in November, in Nyack.
One step closer to my innovative dreams!
