Yes, really!
I know... you're so proud of me. :P
This morning saw me at Walmart, buying paint, paint, and more paint. Sal declined to go, not wanting to see the total for 5 gallons of paint and all the various tools and accoutrements needed to make the walls a different color. :P That was probably a good call. even I was surprised by the total. :P
The good news is that one wall is done, per instructions on several websites, and I have to say that painting paneling, while not the most fun I've had painting a wall, is not as bad as folks have made it out. It's not my first pick... I'll take a perfectly prepared, pristinely primered wall any day. But it's not the pain in the patuski that everyone told me it would be. :P Then again, painting over wallpaper wasn't as bad as everyone said, either. :P Ah well.... I guess it's the old 'your mileage may vary' rule. :)
I'm still waiting for the second fill-in of spackle in the screw holes of the wallboard on sal's office to dry, so I can finish sanding that. I love that Kilz has colored paint/primer in one. The only worry I have is that the wallboard and the paneling might dry different colors. If so, the office will become an accent wall, with a different color altogether on it. :P I bet that's why folks decided to use accent walls in the first place... :P Wouldn't that be funny?
I digress. :) I'm nervous about how the kitchen will come out, but have had pretty good feedback from folks that watch a bunch of makeover shows, so hopefully it will come out as nice on the walls as it is in my head.
Have you ever noticed how much I seem to say that particular phrase? LOL I wonder what a psychologist would say about that...
Ah well... I've 'rested' enough. Guess I should get up and see what's next. :P
