Visualization
I'm totally swamped with work, but have to take a few minutes for a little laugh. Last night Trish and I were on the phone. We were talking about my diagnosis of PCOS. I was talking about how I have all these follicles just hanging out in my ovaries. That spurred a whole long discussion about the images that created. If I was the least bit artistic I would have had a hilarious string of comical sketches. We started with a group of follicles hanging out with margaritas (pool-side if you will). Ultimately, our final scene is the best scenario. PCOS was always described to me as a pearl-like arrangement of multiple follicles in the ovaries. Here's my (little more laid back) visualization of PCOS....
Imagine if you will a congo line of follicles dancing around the walls of my ovaries. They all dance around the outer edges of the room trying to blend in with the rest because none of them are really good at dancing. In their younger years and on their own, they might be really good at what they do, but with this many follicles hanging around none of them are willing to take a chance. None of them want to go out on their own and really strut their stuff. They're all much more content to just hang out with the crowd.
