Fond memories...

Pugsley always loved being pretty, and getting admired. Back in his younger days, we would dye his fur different colors (using safe dyes of course!) and dress him up. He positively lit up after these grooming sessions, he would prance around so cutely. :')

In his later years, I had to stop putting his topknot in a bow Maltese style because his skin became too sensitive. But when I first had him, his hair was well over 18 inches long, a full Maltese coat that I carefully tended (hair that long required daily wrapping in 20+ paper towel "curlers" and daily brushing out) a ritual he looked forward to eagerly every evening. He would sit perfectly still while I set his part from the middle of his nose all the way to the base of his tail too, something most dogs won't hold still for! He would also sit patiently for the topknot bows, something that often takes several tries to center. I'm trying to gather my old photos of him, I have too few of him in his long haired days. :(

Oscar is getting me this little Maltese plush, it does look so like Pugs when I first got him. I can't believe I never got a plush Maltese before this.

I hope you're up there having a blast Pugs, rocking the after-party. :') I know you aren't hurting anymore and that's a blessing but I sure am hurting now. The worst is this emptiness that won't go away. But we did the right thing I know.

Of course I'm reminded of when Toki's cat died in Metalocalypse...just fyi this is NSFW XD
