A RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM MDT THIS EVENING. RELATIVE HUMIDITY OF 15 PERCENT OR LOWER WITH SUSTAINED 20 FOOT WINDS OF 20 MPH OR HIGHER...AND HIGH FIRE DANGER ARE FORECAST TO OCCUR.




SUSTAINED SOUTHWEST TO WEST WINDS OF 25 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 55 MPH WILL DEVELOP OVER THE WEST CENTRAL MOUNTAINS...NORTHWEST PLATEAU...AND MIDDLE AND UPPER RIO GRANDE VALLEY...IN ADVANCE OF A COLD FRONT. THE WIND IS EXPECTED TO SHIFT TO THE NORTHWEST LATER THIS AFTERNOON OR EARLY THIS EVENING...BUT WILL CONTINUE TO REMAIN STRONG AS THE FRONT PROGRESSES SOUTHEASTWARD. VISIBILITIES AT TIMES MAY BE REDUCED IN BLOWING DUST...WHICH MAY IMPACT TRAVEL THROUGH THE AREA...INCLUDING INTERSTATE 4O FROM THE ARIZONA BORDER TO ALBUQUERQUE. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... MOTORISTS SHOULD EXERCISE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING IN THE WIND ADVISORY AREA. SUDDEN GUSTS OF WIND MAY CAUSE YOU TO LOSE CONTROL OF YOUR VEHICLE. EXTRA ATTENTION SHOULD BE GIVEN TO CROSS WINDS.
