Hello Neighbors,
It has been awhile since I have touched based regarding the Cape Ann
Estates 40 B project. As you all know, the state has issued a site
approval letter for this project. There is an upcoming meeting that we
should all try to attend. For those of you in Rockport, you were alerted
of this meeting via certified mail. Gloucester abutters are to receive
this announcement next week.
The meeting is for ANRAD - Abbreviated Notice of Resource Area Delineation
- and is mandated by the state as part of the wetland protection act. For
those of familiar with the property, you know that an engineering firm
surveyed the parcel last fall, and marked all wetlands with blue tape.
(Blue tape is good so be sure not to take them down) The state mandates
that developers hire an engineering firm to do wetland delineation prior to
development. An to avoid these ares during site work and construction. This
upcoming meeting is for the engineering firm, Ecological Services of
Southborough, to review their wetland findings to the town of Rockport.
This is a public hearing and I recommend you all try to attend. It's being
held Wednesday, March 2nd 8:20 PM, in the lower level of Rockport Town
Hall. Questions posed should be focused on the actual wetlands and
conservation. The biggest callout is the vernal pool that sits exactly
where the "emergency road" is proposed. Other topics of concern should be
all the blasting, and the affect on drinking water quality.
Please make an effort to attend . Let's show Rockport our level of
concern.
Regards,
Laura DeLuca
