Chik-Fil-A Has Religious Test for Employment

Local furry @bikerwalla tells me at his Chik-Fil-A job interview "as soon as I answered that I didn't attend a church, the interview was over." Um, a religious test for a fast food restaurant job? That sure sounds like discrimination on the basis of religion ( Read more... )

True, true... especially in California where the breadth of protection is wider.

Still, this is just one of the many questions job applicants are asked. Another that really upsets me is "can I have your facebook password", so they can see how you talk privately about your employer. I would NEVER say yes to that, but I am told that is sufficient to end many employment interviews. I think such questions should be illegal.

I would actually get up and walk out of the interview room if I was asked to give them facebook/twitter/etc credentials just so they can look me up online. What I do in my private time has no relevance to the job.

I agree in principal but what i applicant is desperate for a job. The lasw was voted down in COngress. I think FB should start suing companies

Have 2 FB profiles.

Another thing, if they ask for you password and it is clear from FB that lets say you have 3 kids, over 60, married, single mom, devout Christian, ESL, black ....you can later sue them on the ground of discrimination if they did nto hire you because they found info about you that they are nto allowed to ask during the interiew process.
