Lots of movies I haven't seen and a few I have. Can't compare Hairspray and Mamma Mia. I agree Hairspray is the better of the two, but it's overly sugaryness gives me a toothache so I can't watch it a lot, lol. Loved Bane in Batman as well. He was a true villain but with a side you sympathized with inside. And Michael Cane, love him as well. Have you seen The Quiet American?

Haha, you couldn't say the same about Mamma Mia? At least Hairspray had quality actors, a good original score and a sense of a deeper story. Mamma Mia was a shallow story about shallow people with a load of ripped off pop songs squashed into situations they didn't really fit in because they weren't written for the show. It all felt so self-indulgent and self-congratulatory for the main cast (I'm talking Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan here mainly - Christine Baranski and Julie Walters can Do No Wrong and should have been on screen more), and all those scenes with Donna loving up her glory days were painful.

I haven't see the Quiet American - I've heard it's very good. I think one of my favourites of his is Secondhand Lions, although The Italian Job is up there too.

This is such a good idea! I should keep a list of the movies I watch and the books I read each year.

It just almost gives me a sense of justification for all the crap I watch and read! It feels a bit less like I'm waiting my time, and gives me a sense of accomplishment.

Not at all, I've added you back. :)

Haha, yeah, I probably flush a lot of my life away watching movies, but I really do enjoy them. Working on the basis that each of those is 2 hours (some'll clock over, some'll clock under), It would take me 5.17 days to watch all these movies if I watched them back-to-back nonstop. Phew.

I do love period films, or period adaptations, but my standards are pretty high, and I get dead picky about them.
