(no subject)
It’s looking like I will be moving to Kansas City KS or just over in the Missouri side since I’m not getting any responses to my resumes. As it stands right now the shop plans to close in Kirkland on August 30th. They would like for me to be moved and ready to work there first week in September. Well first I have to run down to my parents house in Mississippi and pick up things my parents want to give me so they can move too. This means I will be driving my pickup down from Washington State to Mississippi as one item is a flatbed trailer. I called them and asked if the tag was good on it.
Mom: “Oh it doesn’t have one”
Me: “What? You mean you have been using it without a tag?!”
Mom: “Well he has only been using it to go from here to the place [160 acre plot of land out of town] and back.”
Me: “Well I know there is no real law enforcement in the county but still.”
Mom: “Well yeah but it didn’t go anywhere else.” ”Dad wants to know if you have tire tools?”
Me: “HUH?” “You mean the tires are flat?”
Mom: “I don’t think so.” She yells at him. “No he just wants to know if you can change the tire on the road.”
Me: “I don’t know if my tools will fit those tires.”
Mom: “He’s not sure the lights work you will have to check those.”
Me: “OK I’m seeing that this isn’t looking good.” “I may not be taking it as it is NOT going anywhere especially without a tag.”
I’m leaving on this trip pretty soon so I don’t see the problems being worked out so I will just have to load the truck alone.
Now in the last couple of years I have been a part of the Renaissance Fair crowd. My home Fair that I am a participant in is Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire now in Bonney Lake, WA. I do go to other ones and I will include The Oklahoma Renaissance Fair on the way down to Mississippi so this should be a nice trip.
