An ode to Il Postino

Three stars came out tonight.
And i kissed my lonely world goodbye.
The silver moon winked its last,
and fell from the sky.
Like spirits the fog lifts,
a veil over the sea.
Whispering wonders of a song unheard,
and playing its chords in the dead of night.
Pages and pages of history were written,
the lines of sadness and life traced
on the illuminated horizon.
And like a thief my shadow steals away
into the unknown.

Three stars came out tonight
as I kissed my lonely world goodbye.
