Requiem of the Golden Witch - Thoughts {Umineko Chiru Spoilers}
Okay, I was going to do one of my crack reviews on this, but since it's taken me almost a week to finish and it's too damn long, I just thought I would share my views on it so far.
This is my first time reading a Umineko Visual Novel, seeing as I first got into the series by watching the anime. However, I'm kind of used to the style of it, as I saw some parts of EP6 on Youtube. I'm more used to the artwork than I was before; R07 isn't that good of an artist, but I hear it's better than Higurashi so I'll take their word for it.
Now, then, let us continue.
All the backstory subplots. I thought there was only the KinBeato one (which was really cute and sweet like the Yasu subplot), but the ones with Jessica and Maria were kind of unnecessary. But, I do see how they fit into Will's figuring out who the "killer" of Beatrice was. They made the story seem longer though holy balls. ;A;
Yasu's story - which I'm almost done finishing up, btdubs - is pretty damn awesome and explains a lot. I'm pretty sure Clair! Beatrice is my new favorite character, if peeps who know me on Twitter/FB couldn't tell already (my icon for this post is actually Clair. Go freaking figure.) I still think Yasu is a girl, which would make Lion a girl. Oh well. It kind of makes sense, don'tcha think~?
Young Battler is really kind of a douche, standing Shannon up like that. Silly Battler, for giving a woman dreams! XD
I also love the relationship between Will and Lion. It's such an... interesting one, really. It's up there in my favorite Umineko pairings alongside BatBeato and KinBeato. So yeah, I'm starting to ship them together now. Who doesn't ship them, actually? XD;;
I can't wait to read the almost three hour-long tea party. Oh boy. I've heard the basis of what happened in it but it seems exciting and whatnot. Apparently, Kyrie is the bitch, not Eva...? Oh well. I didn't really like Kyrie from the get-go anyways.
