Question?
I have a bottle drive related question for EVERYONE. (at least everyone who lives in Michigan.)
I registered my bottle drive as occurring on May 26th. The donation is due at the shelter by June 8th at the latest. I've been telling everyone I need their donations by June 6th to allow me time to get to the grocery store to redeem them, and give me some wiggle room about when I go to the shelter to submit it. Here's the deal. Some people have told me they would help, only they're busy on the collection day that I have selected. If I made flyers and helped with distribution and collection, would anyone be willing to do their neighborhood prior to.. probably like June 4th? (to allow time to go to the grocery store.) The date of collection day would be flexible depending on your schedule--it only requires one morning/afternoon, and we can distribute flyers at any time of day as long as it's at least a few days prior to collection.
If we were going to do this, we'd need to jump on it now. I'd want to select a collection day and jump on making and distributing flyers as soon as possible, to give people time to save up some donations for us, and to take advantage of Memorial Day parties. So if anyone might be interested in doing this, let me know and we'll see what we can work out. The shelter needs all the money it can get, and it seems a real waste to only do my neighborhood. It's quite small.
